How it's calculated
P_hyd = ρ × g × Q × H
P_shaft = P_hyd ÷ η
Head is in metres of the liquid being pumped. For water, 10 m of head is about 1 bar. Efficiency comes from the pump curve at the duty point; small pumps are often only 40–60% efficient.
