Production & OEE
OEE calculator
Availability × performance × quality, with the biggest loss highlighted.
Calculating…
How it's calculated
Availability = (Planned time − Downtime) ÷ Planned time
Performance = (Ideal cycle time × Total count) ÷ Run time
Quality = Good count ÷ Total count
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality
Planned production time excludes planned breaks and no-demand time; those are not losses. A commonly quoted world-class benchmark is 85%, while many plants run at 40–60%. Your own trend on the same line matters more than any benchmark.
Common mistakes
- Using today's typical speed as the ideal cycle time. The ideal is the fastest the machine is designed to run. A generous figure hides speed losses.
- Counting planned maintenance as downtime on some days and not others. Pick a rule and apply it consistently.
