How it's calculated

Chain speed = Z × p × n ÷ 60 000 (m/s) Pitch diameter = p ÷ sin(180° ÷ Z)

ISO "B" series (06B, 08B…) and ANSI (35, 40…) chains share pitches but are not interchangeable. Roller diameters and widths differ, so check which your sprockets are.

Chain has worn out at about 3% elongation over a measured length; 2% on high-speed or precision drives.
