How it's calculated

Speed = rpm × lead ÷ 60 Thrust F = 2π × T × η ÷ lead

Smaller leads give more thrust and finer resolution but less speed. Check the screw's critical speed and column buckling load for long screws; both limit how fast and how hard a screw can be driven.
