G = 0.002 × D × B (through the ring)
This is the widely used bearing-maker rule of thumb for relubrication quantity. Over-greasing is one of the most common causes of bearing overheating, especially at high speed: more is not better.
Grease guns vary widely (often 0.9–1.8 g per shot), so weigh your own gun's output once.
